Guide Dogs Tasmania and Vision Australia have established a new adaptive technology assessment, supply and support service to support school students and adults in order to enable them to live the life they choose.
The successful applicant will conduct worksite, student and general technology assessments as required and provide offsite technical support (in- cluding installation and maintenance), training and producing detailed reports as necessary.

Guide Dogs Tasmania and Vision Australia have established a new assistive technology assessment, supply and support service to school students and adults who are blind or have low vision within Tasmania.
The Tasmania Adaptive Technology Consultant conducts assistive technology assessments and provides technical support services to assist clients to access and fully participate in every part of life they choose. The role also promotes the range of services offered by Guide Dogs Tasmania and Vision Australia within Tasmania.
Maximise individual client choice and flexibility in the delivery of adaptive technology services.
Manage the delivery of high quality Adaptive Technology services to clients using a variety of flexible delivery methods to suit the needs of the Region. Services include, but are not limited to, service presentations, assessment, support (installation and maintenance) and training relating to adaptive technology and other services offered.
Maintain the Equipment Library Service and Adaptive Technology Demonstration/Training Service within Tasmania.
Conduct group adaptive technology training sessions to children and adults.
Ensure that the services are delivered within the agreed budget in consultation with the Client Services Manager.
Contribute positively to the promotion of the services offered through the cooperative agreement with Guide Dogs Tasmania and Vision Australia.
Attend and deliver adaptive technology presentations/professional development sessions at all relevant conferences, seminars and other forums as required.
Ensure the service is delivered to comply with funding requirements.
Ensure all work performed is conducted in accordance with Guide Dogs Tasmania policies and procedures including all OH&S policies.
Oversee volunteers that contribute to the adaptive technology service.
Maintain accurate records and provide statistics, data and reports as required within set timelines.
Contribute to budget and service planning, in consultation with the Client Services Manager, Guide Dogs Tasmania and Vision Australia Management.
Relevant qualification in Information Technology, Engineering or related field.
Minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a technology customer service function.
Qualification in workplace training and assessment.
