Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania is the sole provider of a comprehensive range of specialist services for Tasmanians who are blind or vision impaired.
Blindness and vision impairment impact on a person's ability to manage those lifeskills which we often take for granted. For example, crossing a road, making a cup of tea, telling the time, reading, writing, watching television, operating a computer and using a telephone. Difficulties in these, and other lifeskills, can have a serious impact on a person's independence, safety and confidence.
At Royal Guide Dogs Tasmania, our aim is to equip people who are blind or vision impaired, with effective skills, strategies and resources, which are essential for safe, independent and effective functioning. We achieve this aim via our Lifeskills Programs for Children, Teenagers and Families; Vocational Clients; and 65+ Clients.
